Aeroflot announced its latest operating results earlier this week, which showed the company has seen passenger traffic grow by more than 15%.
The Aeroflot Group carried 17.5 million passengers, up 15.4% year-on-year in the first four months of the year, Aeroflot the airline, carried 11.5 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 12.6%. The passenger load factor decreased by 0.5 % year-on-year to 78.6% for Aeroflot Group and decreased by 0.4%. to 76.9% for Aeroflot airline.
April 2019 operating highlights, the Aeroflot Group carried 4.7 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 13.2%. Aeroflot airline carried 3.1 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 8.3%. Aeroflot Group’s passenger load factor was 80.6%, representing a 0.1 percentage point decrease versus the same period a year earlier. The passenger load factor at Aeroflot – Russian Airlines increased by 0.7 percentage points year-on-year to 80.0%.
Fleet update, in April 2019, Aeroflot Group added one Boeing 737-800 aircraft. One Airbus A319 and one Airbus A321 were phased out. As of 30 April 2019, the Group fleet had 370 aircraft. Aeroflot airline phased out one Airbus A321 aircraft. As of 30 April 2019, the Company fleet had 254 aircraft.

Aeroflot doubles Seoul service
From June 1st, Aeroflot, the airline, will double the number of flights it operates to Seoul from 7 to 14 per week. The new daily flight to the capital of South Korea will operate on the following schedule (all times local):
Moscow – Seoul
- flight SU 0252 will depart Sheremetyevo at 08:00 and arrive in Seoul at 22:45.
Seoul – Moscow
- return flight SU 0253 will depart Seoul at 01:45 and arrive at Sheremetyevo at 05:15.
Aeroflot will also continue to operate its current daily flight between Moscow and Seoul (all times local):
Moscow – Seoul
- flight SU0250 will depart Sheremetyevo at 20:45 and arrive in Seoul at 11:10 (+1);
Seoul – Moscow
- flight SU0251 will depart Seoul at 13:00 and arrive at Sheremetyevo at 16:30.
Aeroflot operates flights between Moscow and Seoul with its code-sharing partner Korean Air, member of SkyTeam alliance. Aeroflot shares its codes SU0250 / SU0251 with another member of the alliance, Garuda Indonesia. Code-sharing cooperation enables partners to strengthen their presence in the Russian and South Korean markets and offer additional services to their passengers.
