Flexjet LLC, a leading provider of fractional jet ownership, today announced that it has been awarded the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Diamond Award of Excellence for Aviation Maintenance Technician Training for 2018. This marks the 20th consecutive year that Flexjet has been honored with the prestigious Diamond Award, more than any other private jet travel provider.

Their hard work and dedication to their craft is reflected in this award, which honours their commitment to our Owners and flight crews. Safety is Flexjet’s utmost priority, and achieving it starts on the ground, before an aircraft ever takes off, with aircraft that are maintained at the highest possible level to ensure maximum safety and performance,” said Flexjet Chief Executive Officer Michael Silvestro.
Established in 1991, the FAA Diamond Award is the premier level of recognition within the William (Bill) O’Brien Aviation Maintenance Technician Awards Program. Qualifying for the award requires that all of Flexjet’s maintenance technicians participate in specialized, continuous training in aviation safety, technical knowledge, aircraft systems, aviation regulations and FAA rules over a 12-month period at levels that surpass not only FAA requirements but also industry standards. The criteria for the Diamond Award have become increasingly stringent, making Flexjet’s streak of 20 consecutive awards remarkable.
Flexjet is known for its high standards in aviation maintenance, which it supports by providing advanced facilities, comprehensive training and support and a culture focused on ensuring that all aircraft meet the highest benchmarks for care and upkeep. Teams of technicians cooperate to maintain every aircraft to the company’s exacting specifications and pride themselves on their skill and ability to exceed all standards.
This commitment to aircraft maintenance and safety is reflected in the awards and certifications Flexjet continues to receive. Flexjet has again earned the Aviation Research Group/US (ARG/US) Platinum Safety Rating. One of the most prestigious aviation safety ratings in the United States, the biennial Platinum rating has now been earned by Flexjet for six consecutive two-year periods since 2008. The ARG/US rating is the result of independent assessments and a multiday, onsite audit that measures companies against the aviation industry’s best practices for safety.
Flexjet is also IS-BAO compliant at level 2, based upon a global, voluntary code of best practices with a safety management system as its basis. IS-BAO conforms with the standards and practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization, making compliance the equivalent of achieving an international standard of safety excellence.
In addition, Flexjet was the first fractional jet ownership program to meet the exacting Industry Audit Standard of the Air Charter Safety Foundation, perhaps the toughest standard for Part 135. Flexjet also is an active participant in the FAA’s innovative Part 5 Safety Management System.
Flexjet first entered the fractional jet ownership market in 1995. Flexjet offers fractional jet ownership and leasing. Flexjet’s fractional aircraft program is the first in the world to be recognized as achieving the Air Charter Safety Foundation’s Industry Audit Standard, is the first and only company to be honoured with 20 FAA Diamond Awards for Excellence, upholds an ARG/US Platinum Safety Rating and is IS-BAO compliant at Level 2. Flexjet’s fractional program fields an exclusive array of business aircraft—some of the youngest in the fractional jet industry, with an average age of approximately six years. In 2015, Flexjet introduced Red Label by Flexjet, which features the youngest fleet in the industry, flight crews dedicated to a single aircraft and the LXi Cabin Collection of interiors. To date, there are more than 25 different interior designs across its fleet, which includes the Learjet 75LXi, Challenger 350, the Embraer Legacy 450, Global Express, the Gulfstream G450, G500 and G650, and the Aerion AS2 supersonic business jets.
