Amelia Earhart flies with Iberia as IAG releases March figures

Iberia has taken the name of the first female aviator to cross the Atlantic and applied it to a new Iberia Airbus A320neo

Amelia Earhart takes to the skies again, this time on the side of a brand new Iberia A320neo which bwe deployed accross the Spanish airlines route network.

Amelia Earhart will continue to lead the vanguard of aviation on board this new Airbus A320neo, as it is the most technologically advanced and efficient aircraft. Equipped with Leap-1ยช type CFM engines, this A320neo is 50% quieter and more environmentally friendly, emitting 5,000 tons less CO2 per year and 50% less NOx.

This tribute to an authentic pioneer of aviation, brave, enterprising and who pursued her dreams without putting any limits, is also a recognition to all the women who work in Iberia, because Earhart made history, and they continue to do it every day. One hundred of those women from all the groups of the company participated in the baptism of the A320neo Amelia Earhart by throwing into the air the same cap that the aviator used.

IAG traffic in March, measured in revenue passenger kilometres,  increased by 5.1 per cent versus the same period last year; IAG capacity measured in available seat kilometres rose by 4.4 per cent versus the same period last year.
