Alison Webster leaves Qantas

The Qantas Group has advised that Alison Webster is leaving the company,  her last day is 24 April 2019. The airline's briefest of brief press releases says she is resigning the role of CEO of Qantas International, there were no gushing words of thanks, no fond farewells, no good wishes for future success.  This may be because, or so we're told by insiders at the Australian carrier that Webster, who only took up the role in November 2017 didn't jump,  she was pushed.

Effective immediately, Mr Narendra Kumar, former CFO of Qantas International and currently overseeing planning for key changes to the airline’s long-haul fleet, will act in the role of Qantas International CEO until a permanent appointment is made.
