The 2019 Travel Trade Gazette Luxury Travel Awards were held in the Rosewood London on 22nd February.

Some of the winner's included top travel company Carrier taking the 'Luxury Operator of the Year' award. While Caribtours won the 'Specialist Luxury Operator of the Year' mantle at the awards ceremony, which is great news for the relatively small company that's been going since 1979.

'Best New Luxury Hotel of the Year' award went to University Arms, Cambridge, which on;y recently opened and boasts 192 rooms and suites spread over four floors, with views over Parker’s Piece, Regent Street or the hotel’s own inner courtyard.  It enjoys a seemingly unambiguous quintessentially British Edwardian style of a country mansion, complete with leather-padded writing desks, low ottomans and tiered chandeliers. Yet all with a hint and accent of modern design and touches that tantalises the senses. It is luxurious and stylish without being all consumed with its own self-importance.  The rooms and suites are both spacious and snug, colourful and restful and dare I say, it's worth going to Cambridge just to stay here!

'Luxury Hotel Company of the Year – Large Group (more than 25 hotels)' was won by Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, beating the likes of Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group, St Regis Hotels and Resorts,
Taj Hotels and even The Ritz-Carlton Hotels.

One&Only Resorts took the title of 'Luxury Hotel Company of the Year – Small Group (25 hotels or less)' and the 'Premium Airline of the year' was won by Singapore Airlines and 'Ultra-luxury Cruise Line of the Year' was awarded to Silversea. Oceania Cruises took the 'Premium Cruise Line of the Year'
