“Congratulations to Silver Airways for their continued growth at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport,” said Mark Gale, CEO/Director of Aviation. “Cat Island in the southern Bahamas is an unspoiled gem which offers travellers a new destination currently unserved by our commercial airlines.”

Cat Island’s untouched beaches are ideal for the classic get-away-from-it-all escape. Divers, snorkelers, sailors and fishing enthusiasts relish in the waters of this tranquil, 50-mile long island. The highest point in the Islands of The Bahamas is located here at Mt. Alvernia – a whopping 206 feet – and the east coast of Cat Island is known for its eight-mile pink sand beach, Fire Beach.

Silver also this week announced new daily nonstop service between Daytona Beach and Fort Lauderdale starting January 16, 2019, and is the official airline of the MiLB’s Daytona Tortugas Florida State League baseball team. In addition, Silver is launching daily nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale and Pensacola on February 13, 2019.

To complement the new service, Silver also offers convenient connections from major cities across the United States, including New York City, Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Washington, DC, through its interline partners, including JetBlue Airways, United Airlines, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines. In addition, Silver provides connections to important Florida cities, including Daytona Beach, Orlando and Tampa/St. Petersburg.
