Qatar Airways Celebrates Qatar National Day in the Skies With Special On-board Menu and Amenity Kits

Qatar Airways is delighted to celebrate Qatar National Day in the skies by providing a variety of limited edition items on board and special discounts on tickets. The onboard offerings include custom-designed Nappa Dori amenity kits, a special Qatar National Day menu, as well as postcards featuring photos of Qatar.

Artisan brand Nappa Dori has created bespoke kits featuring images from destinations around the world served by Qatar Airways. In honour of Qatar National Day, the custom-made amenity kits will feature images of popular sites in Qatar, such as Soug Waqif and traditional Dhow boats lining Doha’s Corniche.
Qatar Airways will offer custom-designed amenity kits to all customers, as well as a special onboard menu featuring traditional desserts

Special award-winning desserts will be offered in both Premium and Economy Class cabins on all flights operated on Qatar National Day. First Class customers will be offered Mejdool halwa, a dessert prepared in fine layers using Qatari Mejdool dates, pistachios and other flavours inspired by the region. Passengers in both Business and Economy Class will be pleasantly surprised by the modern twist on a classic dessert: Basbousa with orange sauce and saffron clotted cream.

Special postcards will also be offered on all outbound flights operated on Qatar National Day, featuring images influenced by local culture and popular sites in Qatar.

Qatar Airways Senior Vice President Marketing and Corporate Communications, Ms Salam Al Shawa, said: “As the national carrier of the State of Qatar, we are delighted to bring the celebration of Qatar National Day on board our aircraft. Qatar’s National Day is a very important event for us as a nation, and these special additions offer a way to show our commitment to celebrating this very special day together. We look forward to welcoming passengers on board and offering them a taste of Qatar.”

The award-winning airline is also celebrating this special occasion with incredible offers of up to 25 per cent off Premium Class tickets and up to 35 per cent off in Economy Class. Qatar Airways Privilege Club members can also earn triple Qmiles in Premium Class and double Qmiles in Economy Class (offer valid until 18 December 2018 for travel until 31 August 2019).

Nappa Dori has gained global recognition for its luxury handcrafted travel and fashion accessories. The amenity kits contain a Molecular Innovation lip balm from Italian cosmetic brand Castello Monte Vibiano Vecchio, along with an anti-ageing moisturiser, hydrating facial mist, socks and eyeshades.

In May 2018, Qatar Airways introduced an enhanced onboard dining experience for its Business Class passengers. The new dining concept features newly-designed tableware, in-flight dining menus, cutlery and chinaware that are specially crafted to meet travellers’ high expectations and elevate their experience onboard the airline’s award-winning aircraft.

Last month, Qatar Airways clinched ‘Best Business Class’ and ‘Best Catering’ awards in the AirlineRatings’ Airline Excellence Awards 2019. The annual Airline Ratings Awards, one of Australia’s most trusted travel industry awards, acknowledges the best in the airline industry and are based on votes by national travel editors who have a combined experience of more than 150 years.
