Aeroflot starts new service to Palma and appoints new Deputy Chief Executive

The largest Russian airline and the world's most recognised aviation brand Aeroflot has named Andrey Panov as Deputy Chief Executive Officer for Strategy and Marketing. 

Prior to joining Aeroflot, Andrey Panov was employed at “Big 3” consulting firm Bain & Co since 2010. He was progressively promoted from consultant up through the ranks to project leader and then Partner in Bain’s Moscow office. He led projects for some of Russia’s largest banks, transportation companies and non-profit groups in the field of education. At Bain, he also helped develop the strategy for Russia’s first low-cost carrier, Pobeda Airlines.

While at Bain he played a key role in developing Aeroflot Group’s Strategy 2023. In his new role, Andrey Panov will be part of the team charged with implementing this approved strategy, which calls for carrying 90-100 million passengers by 2023, when Aeroflot will celebrate its 100th anniversary. Low-cost carrier Pobeda will be a key growth driver, with plans for the airline to carry 25-30 million passengers per year. 


New Moscow - Palma de Mallorca route starts on 1st June

It is another new sunshine route for the airline, which will start operating on 1st June 2019.  The capital of the Spanish island Mallorca, is already popular with Russian tourists and from the start of June getting there will become a whole lot easier.

The flights from Moscow to Palma de Mallorca will operate four times a week on an Airbus A320 aircraft.

Moscow – Palma de Mallorca

 flight SU2518 will depart Moscow on Saturdays and Sundays at 07:55, on Tuesdays and Fridays at 12:15.

Palma de Mallorca – Moscow

-flight SU2519 will depart Palma de Mallorca on Saturdays and Sundays at 12:35, on Tuesdays and Fridays at 17:15 (local time).

Palma de Mallorca is the largest city of the Balearic Islands, located in the Mediterranean Sea.  Aeroflot is continuously expanding its route network and increasing flight frequencies to popular destinations. Aeroflot flies to 152 destinations in 55 countries, including 54 in Russia. In its Winter 2018/19 schedule Aeroflot has launched 14 new destinations, which will be serviced both by the Company’s own fleet and by Rossiya Airline. Aeroflot’s route network spans the largest cities in the Northern Caucasus, including Grozny, Vladikavkaz, Makhachkala, Nazran (Magas) and Nalchik, as well as the cities of the Volga region – Izhevsk and Ulyanovsk. On top of that, Aeroflot has launched direct flights from Moscow to Osh and Bukhara. On the international front we have added flights to three European cities: Gothenburg, Dublin and Ljubljana, as well as flights to Denpasar – the largest city of the Indonesian island of Bali – and Colombo – the largest metropolis of Sri Lanka.
