New air service linking Dallas and Austin with Taos

A new air service will start in December linking both Austin International and Dallas Love Field with the little, yet beautiful town of Taos.

The new air service will start on 20th December and makes a major milestone for both the town of Taos and Taos Regional Airport, as well as having an economic benefit to the region as a whole.  The new charter carrier is called Taos Air and is run in conjunction with Ultimate Jet Charters who will fly a Dornier 328 jet equipped with thirty 30 passenger seats.

The Taos Air launch follows the Taos Regional Airport's opening of its new crosswinds runway last August. "With the new runway in place, we are committed to positioning the Taos Regional Airport as an economic driver for Taos County and Northern New Mexico," said Daniel Barrone, Mayor, Town of Taos.

David Norden, CEO of Taos Ski Valley, one of the major stakeholders in the new air service said: "We're supportive of the Town's vision for the airport as a regional economic driver and premier tourist destination. Taos Air will now offer the closest, fastest and easiest route to the Rockies from Texas, a thrilling development for skiers, snowboarders and outdoor enthusiasts from that region."

The winter service starts on 20th December and is scheduled to run until the end of March, with flights operating every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday or holiday Monday, for a total of six round trips per week.

The travel experience will be simpler than traditional commercial flights because of the direct flight nature of the charter operation, it feels more like a private jet service at a fraction of the cost. Additionally, Taos Ski Valley will provide complimentary ground shuttle service from the airport to and from its newest hotel, The Blake at Taos Ski Valley.

Taos is a small northern New Mexico town with a rich history, beautiful surroundings and a bustling creative scene. It has a thriving local art scene, fantastic historical sites and a world-class skiing resort.  The Taos Ski Valley is nestled among the pristine peaks of northern New Mexico, enjoys over 300 inches of average annual snowfall, 300 days of sunshine and more than 1,200 skiable acres. Taos Ski Valley offers a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, breathtaking scenery and exhilarating terrain for every ability level for a spirited mountain experience unlike any other.
