New direct Seychelles service for British Airways

British Airways has announced the launch of new direct flights to one of the world’s most desirable holiday and honeymoon destinations. Yes from the 24th March next year, they will be flying direct from London Heathrow's Terminal 5 to the sunny Seychelles, making British Airways the only scheduled airline offering a non-stop service from the UK. Air Seychelles currently offer services in conjunction with codeshare partners like Air France via Paris and Etihad via Abu Dhabi.

Located in the clear waters of the Indian Ocean, they Seychelles boasts some of the most idyllic and picturesque islands on the planet. The sheer beauty of these islands, together with the unspoilt famous beaches and the relaxed charm makes this a popular choice for weddings, honeymoons and sun-worshipers alike.  British Airways will put the latest addition to its fleet, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner to work on the route which
will operate twice-a-week between March to October.

The schedule will see flights taking off on Wednesdays and Saturdays, the route timetable is perfectly positioned for honeymooners and holidaymakers keen to immerse themselves in island-life for longer than a traditional week-long break and book 10 night trips and extend their luxurious leisure time.

Sean Doyle, British Airways’ director of network and alliances, said: “The Seychelles is one of the most beautiful places on earth and we’re delighted to be adding this collection of islands to our extensive route network. Customers can now get into ‘holiday mode’ even earlier with British Airways’ direct flights from London taking 10 hours, instead of over 13 hours with a connection in the Middle East.  As one of the leading luxury holiday destinations, the Seychelles offers customers a wide range of accommodation and activities in stunning natural surroundings.”

British Airways refused to comment when we approached them regarding the carriage of wedding dresses in the aircraft cabin to this topical popular wedding holiday destination.
