flynas signs strategic partnership with stc Group and SkyFive Arabia to Provide High-Speed Air-to-Ground Internet Onboard for the First Time in The Middle East

flynas, stc Group, and SkyFive Arabia have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that aims to provide a cutting-edge high-speed Air to Ground internet on 120 flynas aircraft, for the fist time in the Middle East enhancing the passenger experience across the airline's extensive fleet.

The MOU has been signed in presence of Mr. Olayan Alwetaid stc Group CEO, Mr. Ayed Aljeaid, chairman of flynas, Mr. Abdulaziz Aldahmash, GACA deputy president, Mr. Omar Alrejraje CST deputy governor.

SkyFive Arabia and stc Group will spearhead the initiative by delivering state-of-the-art Air-to-Ground internet connectivity, set to debut on domestic services in the 4th quarter of 2024. This innovative service will progressively extend its reach throughout the network and fleet of flynas, the leading low-cost airline in the Middle East.

Two new Airbus A320neo aircraft for flynas

The two Airbus A320neo aircraft arrived in Riyadh on 7th March and 14th March and will operate flights on the carrier's international and domestic route network. Six A320neo new aircraft are scheduled to be delivered to flynas during 2024 which will further enhance the airline's schedule.

This growth in the number of new aircraft and increasing the seat capacity is part of flynas new strategic plan "We Connect the World to the Kingdom", which along with the Pilgrims Experience Program (PEP). Times Aerospace reports the aims of these plans is to facilitate access to the Two Holy Mosques and the National Civil Aviation Strategy to enable national air carriers to contribute to connecting Saudi Arabia with around 250 International destinations.

5 Airbus A320neos to Flynas

Avolon, a leading global aviation finance company, has completed the delivery of 5 new Airbus A320neos to Middle Eastern low-cost carrier, Flynas. The fifth aircraft departed from Airbus’s delivery centre in Toulouse on Tuesday, completing a sale and leaseback transaction for the aircraft agreed in May 2022.

The A320neo is the world’s best-selling short and medium-haul aircraft type, delivering 15% lower fuel burn and CO2 emission savings than previous technology aircraft. Avolon now has 11 aircraft on lease to Flynas, consisting of 6 A320neos, 3 A320ceos, and 2 A330-300s.

The recent deliveries take Flynas’s fleet to 54 aircraft, including 45 A320neos. They will support Flynas’s growing operations, which currently include over 1,500 flights per week to more than 70 destinations. 

Paul Geaney, President and Chief Commercial Officer at Avolon, commented: “This transaction with Flynas expands our relationship with one of the Middle East’s fastest-growing airlines. We are seeing a high level of sale and leaseback opportunities in the market and we are benefiting from our ability to execute at scale. flynas firms up 30 more A320neo Family aircraft


The Saudi budget airline and leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, flynas has firmed up an order with Airbus for 30 new A320neo Family aircraft, taking the airline’s total order with Airbus to 120 A320neo aircraft, including 10 A321XRLs.

The agreement was signed at the Paris Airshow by Bandar Almohanna, flynas Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director and Christian Scherer, Airbus Chief Commercial Officer & Head of International, in the presence of H.E Saleh Al-Jasser Minister of Transport and Logistic Service, H.E. Abdulaziz Alduailj, President of General Authority of Civil Aviation in Saudi Arabia, and Ayed Aljeaid, Chairman of the Board of NAS Holding.

This significant announcement reaffirms flynas' position as a key player in the Kingdom’s aviation industry and highlights the airline’s ambitious plans to keep expanding its fleet with the world’s most modern and fuel-efficient single aisle aircraft.

flynas adding 10 new destinations & routes for summer 2023

The Saudi air carrier and one of the leading low-cost airlines in the Middle East, flynas, has confirmed it will be adding 10 new destinations and routes to its network for this summer. 

Four new destinations will be served out of King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, including the Maldives, the Armenian capital of Yerevan, Antalya in Turkey, and Tivat in Montenegro, the Saudi carrier said.

Six new routes will be launched, including four routes from Dammam to Salalah in the Sultanate of Oman, the Turkish cities of Istanbul and Trabzon, and the Albanian capital of Tirana. In addition, two more routes will be operated from Jeddah to Salalah and the Turkish city of Bodrum, flynas added.

Summer destinations and routes already launched as seasonal will be re-operated, including the Czech capital of Prague, Vienna, and Salzburg in Austria, the Azeri capital of Baku, Tbilisi, and Batumi in Georgia, the Bosnian capital of Sarajevo, Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh in Egypt, Trabzon and Bodrum in Turkey, Salalah in Oman, flynas stated. The total summer destinations in 2023 became 20 destinations.

flynas now offers electronic stopover visa service

flynas, the Saudi air carrier and the leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, announced that its passengers can apply for an electronic Stopover Visa through its website. The "Stopover Visa" is issued after purchasing the airline ticket, and the validity of the visa extends to three months and the stay in the Kingdom up to 4 days.

The visa application will be passed automatically to the unified national visa platform at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to process and issue the digital visa immediately and send it to the beneficiary via e-mail.

Expecting that the new service will contribute to increasing the visitors to the Kingdom, including Umrah and Pilgrim visitors, tourists, and businessmen, Bandar Almohanna, CEO and Managing Director of flynas, said, “the Saudi Vision 2030 has laid the foundations for cooperation among the regulatory and executive sectors on one hand, and with the private sector on the other hand, to serve the Kingdom’s goals in all sectors. Today, we see a practical application of this integration and cooperation by enabling the national carriers to facilitate a request for issuing a Stopover visa, which facilitates procedures of obtaining a Stopover visa for whoever wishes to visit the Kingdom”.

Almohanna stressed that this service will contribute to strengthening the Kingdom's position as a global hub for travel and business by facilitating quick business visits, making the Kingdom a point of contact between countries and continents. He indicated that the new service comes in line with the civil aviation strategy to reach 330 million passengers and link the Kingdom's cities with 250 global destinations and 100 million tourists annually.

Thousands of tourists are expected to benefit from the Stopover visa to attend the various cultural and entertainment events in the Kingdom throughout the year. Additionally, the 4-day visa can also be used to perform Umrah in Makkah Al-Mukarramah and visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah. Moreover, business people can benefit from the Stopover visa to enter the Kingdom for quick business trips.







flynas celebrates opening of Doha office

flynas, the Saudi air carrier and the leading low-cost airline in the Middle East celebrated the opening of its office in Doha on January 30, 2023, after operating daily flights between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, to be the first low-cost operator linking the two brotherly countries.

flynas held a press conference and a dinner party in Doha, in the presence of the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Qatar, HH Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al-Saud, and the officials of the Qatar Tourism, and the General Authority of Civil Aviation in Qatar.

flynas is the first low-cost carrier linking the Kingdom and Qatar with daily flights to Doha from Riyadh and Jeddah, within the expansion strategy it launched early last year under the slogan "We Connect the World to the Kingdom", and in line with the objectives of the Saudi civil aviation strategy to reach 330 million passengers and increase the international destinations connected with the Kingdom to more than 250 destinations by 2030.

The Saudi carrier started last November operating up to 6 daily flights from King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah to Doha, providing its guests with multiple options with the launch of the FIFA World Cup 2022 hosted by Qatar.

CDB Aviation Delivers First A320neo Aircraft to flynas


CDB Aviation, a wholly-owned Irish subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., Ltd. (“CDB Leasing”), announced today the delivery of the first of up to five Airbus A320neo aircraft to a new airline customer, flynas, the Saudi Arabia-based air carrier.

“This latest addition of NEO aircraft to flynas’ growing fleet advances its ambitious plans to expand the fleet and increase the scope of its offerings in line with the Vision 2030 program,” denoted Patrick Hannigan, CDB Aviation’s Chief Executive Officer. “The Saudi market continues to bounce back strongly post-pandemic and flynas will be well-positioned to take advantage of significant pent-up demand.”

The first aircraft, with a capacity for 174 passengers, was delivered in Toulouse, France, as part of the companies’ purchase and leaseback agreements announced in late January 2022. CDB Aviation expects to take delivery of the remaining A320neo aircraft and lease them back to the carrier.

Peter Goodman, CDB Aviation’s Chief Marketing Officer, concluded: “Our commercial team continues to address airlines’ requirements in all corners of the world, leveraging our platform’s leading market position and wide-ranging financing solutions to enhance their fleets and ramp up operations in the face of the progressing recovery across the global air transport industry.”

flynas Officially Joins the International Air Transport Association

flynas, the Saudi national air carrier and leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, has officially announced joining the International Air Transport Association (IATA), which culminates its remarkable journey of developing services and internal operations and achieving top security and safety standards.

In this regard, the Chief Operating Officer at flynas Captain Mansoor Al-Harbi expressed his delight with the airline’s acquisition of the IATA membership, stating that it will enable greater cooperation with other member aviation companies through codeshare agreements and internal connectivity, and will consequently contribute towards enhancing services that enrich guests’ experiences with flynas and provide them with a seamless travel experience to and from Saudi Arabia.

flynas, Saudi Arabia’s first low-cost airline, has signed a firm order for 10 A321XLRs at the 2019 Dubai Airshow. The agreement was signed by Bandar Almohanna, flynas Chief Executive Officer and Christian Scherer Airbus Chief Commercial Officer.

In 2016, flynas signed an agreement for 80 A320neo family and currently operates a fleet of 27 A320ceos and 4 A320neos.

In 2018, the airline transported more than 6.6 million passengers on 60,000 domestic and international flights. The airline is currently operating over 1,200 flights weekly to 17 domestic destinations and 53 international destinations.

The A321XLR is the next evolutionary step from the A321LR which responds to market needs for even more range and payload, creating more value for the airlines. The aircraft will deliver an unprecedented Xtra Long Range of up to 4,700nm – with 30% lower fuel consumption per seat, compared with previous-generation competitor jets. At the end of October 2019, the A320neo Family had accumulated more than 7,000 firm orders from over 110 customers worldwide.

Is Flynas about to upgrade Airbus order?

Is the Saudi Arabian budget airline Flynas about to upgrade its Airbus order from the new engine offering of the A320 to the larger A321?

In short, yes, the airline is certainly considering making the switch according to Bandar Abdulrahman al-Mohanna its chief executive who said on Tuesday, "We started evaluating and are in discussion with Airbus,"

The airline would use the larger Airbus aircraft on regional routes to the Sub-continent and North Africa, Dandar said, although at this stage it was unclear how many A321neos it would switch to from its 120 A320neo order, or when any final decision would be made.

First A320neo Flynas delivery


Flynas, Saudi Arabia’s first low-cost airline, has begun taking delivery of its first of 80 A320neo Family aircraft. This follows an agreement signed in January 2017, with deliveries scheduled to take place from 2018 to 2026.

Flynas is the first operator in Saudi Arabia to acquire the A320neo and currently operates a fleet of 30 A320ceos. The A320neo, powered by CFM LEAP-1A engines, will support Flynas’ expansion plans while providing greater operational efficiency and passenger comfort.

Decision time for flyadeal over Airbus or Boeing order due before December!

The low-cost carrier from Saudi Arabia, flyadeal says it will make a decision on its future fleet plans before the start of December. 

The airline is trying to choose between the Airbus A320neo and the  Boeing 737 Max and after vigorous campaigning from both manufacturers, the airline will announce the results of its decision by the start of next month.

Flyadeal had been expected to place an order for 30 new aircraft in September this year, however the airline wanted to spend more time evaluating the two models,  “We want some evidence because we’re committing a huge chunk of capital,” the airlines CEO Con Korfiatis told the media in Dubai on Wednesday, November 14th.

flynas Expands Its International Reach to Pakistan


As part of its ongoing plans to expand its reach in Asia and open new strategic and international routes, flynas has announced its new flights between the kingdom and Pakistan starting February 15th  2018.


    

flynas will launch flights from Dammam, Riyadh and Jeddah to both Lahore and Islamabad and will commence on the 15th of February with flights from Riyadh to Lahore. Riyadh to Islamabad flights will follow on the 16th of February, along with flights from Dammam to Lahore. While flights from Jeddah to Lahore will launch on the 17th of February.

flynas flights between the Kingdom and Pakistan will utilize A320 fleet and new B767 aircraft. Booking can be made through flynas' smartphone application, travel agents, and the flynas website.

These new flynas routes will serve business travellers from and to Saudi Arabia, as well as Hajj and Umrah visitors. It will also connect passengers to many different cities within the Kingdom with flynas' network, which includes 17 domestic destinations.
