De Havilland Canada launches the DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G

This week at the Paris International Air Show, De Havilland Aircraft of Canada Limited announced the launch of the DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G with combined purchase agreements and letters of intent totalling 45 aircraft.

Over the course of the Paris International Air Show, De Havilland Canada will announce Purchase Agreements with our valued Twin Otter Classic 300-G launch customers.

The Classic 300-G is the fifth generation of the Twin Otter aircraft, joining the current Series 400. All DHC-6 Twin Otters carry passengers, transport VIPs, move cargo, conduct medivac operations, and perform special missions in the world's most unforgiving environments. When mounted on amphibious floats, these aircraft move seamlessly between paved surfaces and water-landing areas.

As De Havilland Canada continues to grow its footprint in Canadian aerospace, the launch of the DHC-6 Twin Otter Classic 300-G will bolster the local economy by creating 80 and 91 permanent production jobs in Calgary, Alberta and Victoria, British Columbia, respectively.

Air Antilles to Become First Caribbean Operator, First Certified Steep Approach Operator with Purchase of Viking Series 400 Twin Otters

Viking Air Limited of Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and Air Antilles, of Guadeloupe, French West Indies, have signed an agreement for the purchase of two Viking Twin Otter Series 400 aircraft, making Air Antilles the first commercial operator of the Series 400 in the Caribbean. 

Also forming part of the purchase agreement, Air Antilles will become the first Series 400 Twin Otter operator to receive European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for steep approach operations.

The two Viking-built Series 400 Twin Otters are scheduled for delivery to Air Antilles in the last quarter of 2019 and will be configured as 19-passenger regional commuter landplanes to replace the two legacy de Havilland Series 300 aircraft currently in commercial service with the airline.

More Twin Otters For Fiji Airways

The delightfully friendly Fiji Airways has agreed to purchase three Viking Twin Otter Series 400s for use by its sister company Fiji Link to operate on domestic routes throughout the many islands of this picturesque island nation. 

The new 400 versions of the Viking Twin Otters are scheduled to be delivered between October this year and February of next. The new arrivals are the standard land plane variety with a 19 seat configuration and are powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-34 turbine engines and Honeywell Primus Apex fully integrated digital IFR avionics suite.
