For an amazing ninth year in a row, Finnair has been awarded the mantle of 'Northern Europe’s Best Airline' by Skytrax at the World Airline Awards event in London today.

“It is a truly an honour to receive this prestigious award for the ninth consecutive year,” said Piia Karhu, SVP, Customer Experience at Finnair. “This award demonstrates the great work our entire team has done to focus on making the customer and travel experience as pleasant and comfortable as possible.”

“We have also taken important steps in continuing to develop and refine key areas of our travel experience through the entire customer journey and we have seen very favourable developments in our customer feedback and NPS score,” adds Karhu.

"Finnair achieved a remarkable success winning this top accolade as the Best Airline in Northern Europe for the ninth successive year,” says Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax. “The airline is truly a customer favourite as it continues to expand its popular network of routes between Europe and Asia."  The World Airline Awards by Skytrax are based on an independent survey of over 20 million passenger entries taken between August 2017 to May 2018 and covered 335 airlines.

The World Airline Awards by Skytrax are regarded as the primary benchmarking tool for passenger satisfaction levels of airlines throughout the world. The passenger survey analyses customer satisfaction for the overall airline passenger experience, at both the airport and on board the aircraft: check-in to boarding, seat comfort, cabin cleanliness, food, beverages, in-flight entertainment and staff service.
