Yesterday was the start of a major new route push for Air Canada, as they inaugurated a non-stop service between Toronto and Omaha, which is the first of 25 new year-round and seasonal routes the airline is launching this summer.
The new non-stop routes are part of the carriers growth plans which aims to vastly extend Air Canada's route network with new destinations and city pairings in Canada, the US as well as outside North America.
"Air Canada is well established as a leading global carrier now serving 222 destinations on six continents. These route additions broaden and deepen our already expansive network by adding new destinations and city pairings. In recent years, Air Canada has been profitably adding capacity and building its network so that today we now operate 430 routes, providing customers more choice and travel options aboard the Best Airline in North America, as rated by the respected Skytrax global survey," said Benjamin Smith, President, Passenger Airlines at Air Canada.
The first of the 25 new routes started yesterday and will continue until 2nd July and include international services including those from Vancouver to Paris and Zurich. Toronto to Buenos Aries and Shannon, and Montreal to Tokyo-Narita and Bucharest.
The new routes are operated over the whole range of services such as Air Canada mainline, Air Canada Rouge and Air Canada Express services. The flights are timed to connect conveniently with Air Canada's global network at major hubs, with all the usual Air Canada benefits and service levels.
