Southwest add flights for US footie fans

Southwest Airlines  announced new flights that'll get football fans from Oklahoma City and Atlanta to Los Angeles just in time for New Year's Day kickoff in one of college football's biggest games of the year.

Based on the demand from fans in Oklahoma and Georgia, the carrier added additional nonstop options for fans to get to the bowl game in Pasadena, Calif. The carrier added the following flights to its schedule:

Friday, Dec. 29, 2017
From Atlanta to Los Angeles

Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017
From Atlanta to Los Angeles
From Oklahoma City to Los Angeles

Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2018
From Los Angeles to Atlanta
From Los Angeles to Oklahoma City

"These additional flights will make it easier for so many of our Customers and college football fans to see their teams battle it out on the gridiron," said Brook Sorem, Senior Director of Schedule Planning. "If you're traveling on game day, make sure to bring your own WiFi enabled device to tune in to our free live TV available via onboard entertainment portal to cheer on your team."

Of course, adding extra flights will also increase revenues for the airline, so is this really Southwest doing something good for fans, or rather Southwest doing what all good business should do and make more money.
