Blazing tug effects Singapore Airlines aircraft

An aircraft towing tug caught fire as it was towing a Singapore Airlines aircraft to a departure gate at Singapore's Changi Airport early Wednesday 29th November.

There were no passengers aboard the aircraft as it was being moved into position when the incident occurred in the early morning.

According to local reports, there was one person from the towing/positioning crew in the aircraft's cockpit at the time of the fire and they were evacuated down an emergency slide as the airport's fire service tackled the blazing tug.
