End of an era as Brussels Airlines phase out Avro RJ100's

Brussels Airlines are phasing out their last three Avro RJ-100 aircraft this autumn, ending a long history of flying the four engined regional jet.

The airline, part of the Lufthansa Group have scheduled the last RJ flight to be SN2720 from Geneva to Brussels on 28th October this year.

Over the years the airline has flown a number of the aircraft on many regional routes to Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, Denmark, Poland, Czechia, and Sweden from its Brussels base.

The airline will be wet leasing a number of aircraft to take up the schedules of the retiring Avro RJ-100's including some Sukhoi SSJ's from CityJet. A proposed complete airline review by parent company Lufthansa has been postponed due to the ongoing Air Berlin situation.

The end of an era is coming soon, however, let us enjoy these classic aircraft while we can!
