New Routes For Monarch

Monarch is celebrating the launch of four new routes from Birmingham Airport – The UK airline now flies to Valencia in Spain, Split in Croatia, Naples in Italy and Rhodes in Greece from the midlands airport.

It has become the only airline and holiday company to take passengers from Birmingham to Valencia and Split.

Monarch also welcomed a Boeing 737 NG aircraft to its fleet at Birmingham last week, which will be used for crew training and help the carrier get ready for the arrival of new 737-max aircraft next year.  The aircraft’s first revenue flight was on the 29th June when it flew to Rome Rome.

Flights to Valencia will operate twice a week on a Thursday and Saturday and fares start from £39 one way (£60 return).    Customers on the inaugural flight were treated to a glass of bubbly and slice of Paella themed cake.  Monarch’s Chief Commercial Officer Ian Chambers was joined by David Winstanley, Birmingham Airport’s Chief Operating Officer at check-in with customers. Flights to Rhodes operate once a week on a Wednesday from as little as £52 one way or £80 return.
