Worlds Shortest Intercontinental Flight to Launch in 2015

Royal Air Maroc and Her Majesty's Government of Gibraltar announced this week that a new service linking the northern city of Tangier and Gibraltar will launch on 29 March 2015.
This brand new service continues a long history of flights between the two cities that dates back to the 1930's. Although the last scheduled airlink ended in the 1990's.

The new scheduled flights will be operated by Royal Air Maroc's fleet of 70-seat ATR72 turboprop aircraft with both Economy and Business class cabins. Initially they plan a twice weekly service on Thursday and Sunday.
The service has been conveniently scheduled so passengers can connect from Casablanca with one stop at Tangier, opening up Gibraltar to the largest city in Morocco.
It will also be one of the world's shortest intercontinental flights, linking the continents of Europe and Africa in just 30 minutes.
